EXANODIA is an innovative start-up founded in 2023 in Lyon. Our mission is to transform inspection and control processes in industrial sectors by leveraging artificial intelligence. We develop AI-assisted Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) solutions to automate, accelerate, and enhance the reliability of inspections, reducing costs while improving equipment safety.
With a team of 6 people, we work on cutting-edge technologies, including anomaly detection in parts tested using X-rays, ultrasound, eddy currents, and other NDT methods for the nuclear, oil & gas, naval, and aerospace sectors.
As a Data Scientist at EXANODIA, you will be responsible, within the AI team, for developing and implementing machine learning and data analysis models for our AI-assisted non-destructive testing solutions. You will collaborate closely with engineers, software developers, and NDT experts to implement robust models capable of detecting complex defects in industrial environments.
Your responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models, particularly neural networks, to detect anomalies and defects in images or signals (ultrasound, X-rays).
- Work with massive datasets (Big Data) and preprocess them to optimize their use in AI models.
- Develop image analysis algorithms for defect segmentation and classification.
- Collaborate with technical teams to integrate developed models into EXANODIA’s products and software.
- Optimize learning pipelines and improve model performance in terms of accuracy and processing time.
- Explore innovative AI methods such as deep learning, patch classification, and active learning to improve inspection efficiency.
- Participate in the collection, structuring, and labeling of industrial data.
- Prepare technical reports and present results to clients and partners.
Profile sought:
Technical skills:
- Proficiency in machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, deep learning).
- Strong knowledge of image analysis and signal processing.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.).
- Expertise in industrial data analysis and data preprocessing.
- Proficiency in programming tools: Python, R, SQL.
- Experience with NDT methods such as radiography (X-rays) or ultrasound is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control tools (Git) and production deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
Personal qualities:
- Ability to solve complex problems in an innovative and pragmatic way.
- Team spirit and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Intellectual curiosity, open-mindedness, and eagerness to learn.
- Strong motivation to contribute to the improvement of industrial processes through AI.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in industrial sectors or NDT is a plus.
- Experience with AI projects applied to industry or with integrating models into production systems is an asset.
What we offer:
- Opportunity to work in an innovative start-up at the forefront of AI and NDT technologies.
- Stimulating environment with technical challenges and diverse projects.
- Flexibility (possibility of remote work).
- Competitive salary, with growth potential based on experience.
- Rapid advancement opportunities based on performance.
