Hitachi IA-1000 | Pre-Main Integrated Amplifier | Rare

The Hitachi IA-1000 is a rare and sought-after integrated amplifier from the early 1970s, known for its distinctive "constant current drive" system designed to minimize distortion. This model was part of Hitachi's premium Lo-D line, which aimed to provide high-fidelity performance. Rather than the direct-coupled system typical of the time, the constant current drive allows the driver stage to operate with high impedance, reducing distortion for improved sound clarity and smoothness.

Known for its robust design, the IA-1000 includes a mix of metal and veneer, giving it a high-quality aesthetic appeal. It has a power output of 55 watts per channel at 8 ohms and offers a frequency response from 10 Hz to 100 kHz, which contributes to its balanced and clear sound profile.

This model uses carefully selected silicon transistors to ensure Hi-Fi quality sound. The equalizer section features a high-gain, low-noise hybrid IC (FA-6001T), providing a broad dynamic range and stable performanc
